6-19-17 God Gave It All
God never does anything half way. And this certainly applies to our salvation as well. God knew we would never be able to save ourselves. He knew we would have no resources to become holy like Him. He knew we would not even think we needed to be saved…and so He came. No, God did not send one of His angels to reach us. He definitely did not leave us to our own devices. No! God came Himself. God the Son, descended from His throne and entered our fallen world. God the Son, humbled Himself and put on our limited flesh. God the Son, endured all of life’s hardships, humiliations and horrors simply because He loves us. Not because we are good or will do great things. No. God gave His all because He loves us and desires to give us the opportunity to love Him in return. My Friends, if I never teach you anything except that God loves you profoundly and eternally, then I have accomplished my life’s mission. May you be blessed by the following blog. And NEVER forget: God loves you!
From 10-14-14 Jn 3:16 “Part 2 God Gave”:
Hi Friends, never forget these simply words: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” As we continue to cherish this most quoted verse of the Bible, let’s look at what God did about this deep love He so has for us, shall we?
What is the outcome of a love so deep it has no bottom? Generosity. For God so loved that He GAVE…and what did He give? Leftovers? Scraps from His abundance? No! He gave His very best. He gave His most precious gift to us. He gave all He had to give, His own Son. When we begin to understand the value and sacrifice of what God gave us because He so loves us, we too should respond with a heart that wants to give Him our very best- all we have- in return. We should begin to live a life that honors Him in every way- in our thoughts, in our words and in our deeds. This is the goal of my life and every time I even try to think like He does, to speak love like He does and to live out my life the way He desires me to, I can sense the Abundant Life more deeply. This is what I want for my life, do you want it too? Then won’t you join me?
Until we meet again, keep lifting your eyes to God, He’s closer than you think!
